wow, i have to write 2004 on all my entries now. always takes awhile to get use to.

i like to dedicate today's entry to the cute doggy in Full Metal Alchemist - 13:

speaking of anime, i'd like to donate this quote from Juuni Kokki - 39: ***WARNING: THERE ARE SPOILERS!!!*** Everyone, stand up. I don't like being worshipped or even the distance created between people by rank. I despise not being able to see another person's face. I also dislike having people kneel before me and watching people kneel before others. Henceforth, the practice of kneeling on hands and knees, aside from official events such as ceremonies, festivals, and diplomacy shall be abolished. Only bows from the standing position shall be allowed. I have nothing in common with those whoe need to have people bow before them to confirm their status. I find it more problematic that there are those who become unbalanced when they are in power. Keiki, people naturally bow to others when they truly feel gratitude and wish to express true respect. All I am trying to say is interacting with others in a polite manner is to be expected, and whether one does so or not is dependent upon one's moral character. I want each citizen of Kei to become their own ruler. It should be evident ... the end which awaits those who trample on others and use their social status to coerce respect. The same goes for those who sit quietly through abuse. People aren't born to be slaves of others. People who will not yield, even in the face of oppression - People who will not be broken, even when faced with tyranny - If there is injustice, they will not cower before it. They will not flatter beasts. My wish is for the citizens of Kei to have such freedom. In order to become masters of ourselves, we must start by proudly holding our heads up high in front of others. You all once asked me where I would guide the Kingdom of Kei. I wonder if this answer is sufficient. As a token of my resolve, I abolish the practice of kneeling on hands and knees. With this, I declare my first Imperial address!
